As a scientist and a film lover I also revel in mystery. I am often overjoyed by the ability of a movie to make you think after it is over, for it to leave a lasting impression. The same is true in science; the more you understand, the more you figure out, the greater your curiosity.<br /><br />I think your observation about laziness is apt though. Lazy people cannot handle mystery. Mystery <i>expects</i> you to add something, often from you own life. It forces your to think.
